This morning as I was in worship at our house with my son, the Lord began to speak to me with great clarity and intention about the season ahead. Specifically concerning the year 2020 and beyond. I submit this to the greater body of Christ with great humility and expectation for what lies ahead. This will be a year of yielding to the Holy Spirit for brothers and sisters in the body of Christ as well as merging together in unity to display a more pure expression of the full stature of Christ.
Unity
I believe this year will mark a significant “stepping over” from a season of selfish ambition & separation into submission & service in the bride of Christ. There will be a notable departure from systems that encourage separation to those which merge and mesh cultures and camps within Christianity. Many streams will converge, that we might see and experience the river of God.
I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. — John 17:20–23
Media & Entertainment
I hear the Lord saying that the “control room” is not outside of His grasp. I saw a media control room where the hand of God reached in and began to instruct and direct. In the past, many have felt that the Spirit did not have liberty to express Himself within the framework of systems, structures, and organizations. The Lord himself is about to go “on air” as we see the most significant public display of the power of God throughout the airwaves of the earth. Watch as God uses Hollywood like a sickle to bring in the Harvest! Not only secular media and entertainment, but also a sweeping wave of power & presence evangelism through all existing media platforms as well as emerging platforms that are being birthed. The presence of God is about to go mainstream as the King demonstrates his Authority.
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. — Psalm 24:1
Do not look to seasons past for direction, as the Lord is releasing a newness in this in this hour which the undiscerning will not recognize. God is revealing Himself through His son Jesus, from the highways to the byways, the pulpits to the pews, and the White House to the crack house. God’s glory is about to hit the whole earth in a way that will separate the godly from the guilty. What will you do with the person of Jesus Christ?
The Saints
Many saints will be forced to reconcile unhealed wounds inflicted by the church in seasons past as God raises up the ekklesia to the glory He intended. It is vital that believers not hide behind a feeling of entitlement to live in an emotional state that reflects a season God has already dealt with. I smell the aroma of the flesh of the saints hitting the altar, so that anything as-yet-unsurrendered is consumed. This will produce a glory through suffering that WILL break the yoke of bondage!
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. — Colossians 3:12–14
The Local Church
The local church is about to explode as emerging young apostles are loosed to do what has never been done, empowered by the Spirit of God. Movements are being birthed in this hour that will exceed the greatest expressions of the organized church over the past 100 years. A more holistic expression of the fivefold offices (see Ephesians 4:11) will be displayed as apostles build with the Spirit of God. Watch as the Lord crashes into mainline denominations that have historically been opposed to the work and operation of the Holy Spirit. ALL denominations will experience a greater visitation of the Lord. What happens after will be up to them.
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. — Ephesians 2:19–22
Africa
Watch as nations begin to publicly declare Christ as King, making bold statements and even new covenants over their land. I saw unexpected African nations that will begin to prosper in an unprecedented fashion as the bowls of intercession in Heaven have reached a tipping point. Justice is about to be loosed from Heaven over those in the darkest situations. There is a door of Hope being placed in the valley of Achor (see Hosea 2:15).
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. — Isaiah 60:1
Asia
The Asian church is about to step into a season of evangelism, equipping, and establishing in such a way that the whole earth will feel the impact. Worship will rise in purity as the Asian church finds her voice and sings her song. A song of deliverance and liberty will rise as the revelation of Jesus hits that part of the earth with explosive power. The same anointing that rested on Paul and Silas is accessible in this hour. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered!
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. — Acts 16:25–26
Family
Unprecedented unity will be displayed as the family of God is recalibrated from “transactional” paradigms to “relational” realities. Watch as powerful families are raised up to display a holistic approach to the faith. God is breathing on all things family. Watch for breakthrough in adoption and a surge of those released into new expressions of care for widows. I see nursing homes releasing patients to families as the responsibility of true religion hits the church again.
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. — James 1:27
