How to Change the Atmosphere

Living from a place of internal peace & power

Chris Gore, Director of Bethel Church’s Healing Ministries recently taught in our school of ministry. We’re making this session available to you for free, either as a video or audio podcast below. How do we affect the atmosphere around us? What are the tools which enable us to rise above spiritual darkness and exude the light of Christ? This is the topic of the video (and podcast) today.

You inner reality has to be stronger than the outer reality. The truth is, if you’re a Jesus-follower, you are already unified with God. The Holy Spirit lives within you, and the resurrection power of the Prince of Peace is living inside of you. Click below for more…

Audio Podcast:

Peace is the Presence of Someone. God has taken up residence inside of you.

That day, when it was evening, Jesus said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side.” They left the crowd, and took him with them in the boat he’d been in. There were other boats with him too. A big windstorm blew up. The waves beat on the boat, and it quickly began to fill. Jesus, however, was asleep on a cushion in the stern. They woke him up. “Teacher!” they said to him, “We’re going down! Don’t you care?” He got up, scolded the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Shut up!” The wind died, and there was a flat calm. Then he said to them, “Why are you scared? Don’t you believe yet?”
— Mark 4:35–40

The result is this: since we have been declared ‘in the right’ on the basis of faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah.
—Romans 5:1

Peace is something you’ve already got. You can live out of a place of internal peace and affect the atmosphere around you by doing so. You have authority in the storm that you can sleep in. When you find peace in the midst of the storm, you can walk in authority. You can only give away what you know you’ve got. The storm may rage around you but it doesn’t have to be inside you.

Note from the editor: this teaching was recorded in our school of ministry, but Chris will be back with us in Rancho Mirage, CA for the Relentless Conference → In addition, you can get Chris’ powerful book Walking In Supernatural Healing Power here →.

Last week we went to lunch at perkins. The bill was $22.22 so I left $44.44. Today when i walked in the waitress thanked me for last week because she had been thinking allot about her dad who passed away and that I left $44.44 and I wrote jesus loves you on the receipt. She said she burst into tears and thanked me again. Mom had no idea what she was talking about. I didn't understand the 44.44. After we were eating she came by and I asked her what the 44.44 meant to her. She said it was an angelic meaning and 4444 means that your doing the right thing and it made her bust into tears. You could feel his presence the whole time. Wow he speaks in amazing ways.

This is a good word, but I want to ask more. What about when there is actually like mysterious and chronic illness actually going on? I’ve found it a lot easier when the turmoil really is outer, but trying to find that peace when it’s your own body is difficult.

Yes, it is difficult - but not impossible (I say this from experience). Learn to become more aware of your spirit - that's where the Holy Spirit dwells, that's where the Peace is. When the illness has your attention, it distracts you from your spirit. Pray in the Spirit, worship, be still, soak in God's presence and you'll become more aware of your spirit. I found it helpful to differentiate between my spirit and my soul - this might help: https://supernaturaldiscernment.com/2017/09/03/spirit-vs-soul-part-1/
