“The Lord gave the command; a great company of women brought the good news.” (Psalm 68:11, HCSB)
“You’re going to see spiritual daughters released in this next season like never before, for God is putting a fire on the women that are going to come out of the Global [Awakening] culture in this next season. And I feel like there is even coming a synergy that happens between fathers and daughters that’s going to release the new sound with a new generation of women.” – Bob Hazlett, (Prophetic word given to Randy Clark at Voice of the Prophets 2018)
God is calling his daughters to step into the destiny and the purpose He has for them. God is anointing women in this season. What is the purpose of this anointing? Where do we fit?
In 2004, the Lord showed me a revival with fruit so large it was impossible to move without help. Together, we struggled to move the harvest, even with the most powerful equipment. I believe this revival is at our doorsteps, and it is an all hands on deck situation. There is little time to spare. The body of Christ needs to get into position. Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Matthew 9:37-38).
As we pray for the laborers, there is an army of women rising up with the glory of the sun glinting off their armor, reflecting the glory of the Lord. This isn’t a call for women only, but it is a call for women to come alongside men carrying the good news and revealing the glory of God in a way that only they can. Like Miriam after the victory at the Red Sea, like the woman at the well after encountering Jesus, like the women at the tomb after witnessing the resurrection, His daughters carry the good news. We can no longer function at half capacity. It isn’t enough for a few to respond to the call. The full army is needed in this hour.
For women, it is all too easy to brush this call aside. There are many who encourage us to do so. But we are called to reveal God to the world. We need to proclaim who He is and what He has done. As women, created in God’s image, we display him to the world in a unique way. Genesis 1:27 explains “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” From the very creation, women were created in the image of God. There is something about the partnership between men and women that reveals who God is.
Throughout scripture we see this connection between men and women. Both male and female imagery is used for God. Psalm 103:13 reveals the father heart of God, “As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him,” while Isaiah 66:13 reveals his mother’s heart, “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.” In Luke 13, the Kingdom of God is likened to man who planted a mustard seed and to a woman working yeast into dough. Again in Luke 15, Jesus tells three parables: one of a shepherd with a lost sheep, one of a woman with a lost coin, and another of a father with a lost son. In Joel 2 we again see this partnership, “Your sons and daughters will prophesy…Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” These are just a few examples of the connection between men and women. It isn’t one or the other. It is the two working in partnership together, displaying the image of the one true God to the world. There is power in this unity!
In January 2020 as I drove to the Global School of Supernatural Ministry to teach a session on “Women in Ministry,” the Lord clearly spoke, “No one can stop what I’m about to do.” God is on the move, and no one is going to stop what He has purposed. Isaiah 46:11 promises, “I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.” No sickness, no turmoil, no plot of the enemy will stop God. He laughs at those who plot against him (Ps 2:4, 37:13). God is up to something, and the prayer in my heart has been to know how to partner with Him in it.
This is a season for the church to bless and release women. Over the years, numerous women have approached me for advice on being a woman in ministry. The occasional question has become an ongoing conversation with many who feel this call. Over half of our students, conference attendees, and ministry trip participants are women. God is raising up His daughters. Our goal is to create an environment where these women can be equipped and inspired through teaching, impartation, and relationship.
We are excited about several new ventures aimed at meeting this need. Our Network has formed Women’s Gatherings, community conversations and studies, to build connection between women in ministry. My new podcast, “Loving Jesus,” provides a platform to receive pearls of encounter and revelation from women and men through their walk with Jesus.
How do we partner with what God is doing? Fathers and mothers, it is time to bless your daughters, to celebrate them, and to see them launched. Children of God, it is time to encourage your sisters and to cheer them on. Ladies, it is time to say yes to the call, get the training, and begin to move into the things God has called you to do. The fields are ripe for harvest, and God is calling you to rise to partner with Him. It’s time to join the great company of women who bring the good news.
