Two young women came to me separately this evening wanting prayer for depression. Kenia, 25, said she had a broken heart and had been depressed for a year. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would pour into her the perfect peace of Jesus and the Joy of the Lord, that the Holy Spirit would pour love, forgiveness and compassion into her and take away the pain, in Jesus’ name. Smiling, Kenia hugged me and said that she felt peace. We praised Jesus for what He was doing in her.
Next was Ana, 28, who said she had been depressed for 7 years. She had been involved with a boyfriend that got her hooked on cocaine. He had died and she was off cocaine for 5 years, but was still taking anti-depressants. I prayed that the Holy Spirit would remove the pain from her and pour in the Lord’s perfect peace and His love, that He would fill her with compassion and forgiveness, giving her freedom, in Jesus’ name. Ana wept, falling on the floor under the Spirit. When she got up, Ana said she was happy and gave me a tight hug. We praised Jesus for what He was doing in her. It was so wonderful to see Jesus set both young women free from depression! Praise Jesus!
