God Does Great Things With the Lowly

It’s not about being great, about being qualified. It’s about being needy and lowly and desperate for Jesus. When our hearts go up toward God, the Spirit moves in people around us. If we want to press into the “greater things” that Jesus promised, this is the way.

It’s been such a blessing to get to know Michael Koulianos more over the past few years. He carries such a pure heart for the Lord and for the body of Christ. I’m posting this clip from one of our conferences because it is such a vital thing for us to get.

Michael & Jessica Koulianos will be joining me in August at Greater Things, along with Andy Byrd, UPPERROOM, Will Hart, and other friends. Seats are selling out, so click to sign up now →

The Holy Spirit is constantly speaking, praying, like a great river. If we want to develop the kind of lifestyle that Michael’s talking about, it’s not an issue of working it up or just trying harder. Instead, we’re called to step into the river of prayer that the Holy Spirit is constantly offering up. This is the path to become the living epistles that Paul talked about and it’s the path to walk in greater things.

Sometimes we can get so focused on “doing something great for God” that we miss Jesus entirely. Jesus is content to dwell in the small places, with the lowly in heart and the needy. When we encounter Him there, the Kingdom comes.

Truly, if we want to see the power of God shake our cities, if we want to see God do something great, well this is where it starts.
