Mozambique August 15 – 25, 2018

Humanitarian Aid Project

Global Awakening is taking a fresh step by partnering with Help One Walk International (HOW), who will be hosting a Prosthetic Camp for 250 amputees outside of the capital of Maputo, Mozambique. This camp will be situated on Iris Ministries Machava Campus in Maputo. Those who travel on this ground-breaking humanitarian trip will have an opportunity to assist the HOW team in transporting amputees, caring for them during their stay, and observing them walk again after receiving a prosthetic leg.

Douglas Bowman and John Mullen co-founded HOW International two years ago while helping Florencia Artur, a 16-year-old woman who lost her leg from a landmine explosion. Florencia, now a qualified as a prosthetic technician will be assisting the ministry team in fabricating and fitting artificial legs during the prosthetic camp.

This trip will also include ministry excursions to the infamous Bocaria dump, the starting point of Heidi and Rolland Baker’s ministry. You will have the dual blessing of encountering the miracle of an amputee walking, as well as laying hands on the sick!
