As the excitement was stirring up, bags were packed, signs were made and a group of 21 lovers of Jesus made the 7 hour drive from Mechanicsburg, PA to Salem, Massachusetts.
The drive up was filled with anticipation! Anticipation to see lives radically touched by the love of God. Our team was preparing to spend the weekend in two pop up tents partnering with Phil Wyman of Gathering Church ministering to witches, warlocks, and the masses during the Haunted Happenings pagan festival that is held annually in Salem.
Our team stayed in an old mansion 30 minutes outside of Salem where we interceded and worshiped before going into Salem each day. It was a time of connection, it was a time of revelation, it was a time of spiritual battle. Our booth in downtown Salem offered many services including: ‘Spiritual Readings’, ‘Dream Interpretation’, ‘Spiritual Cleansing’, ‘Tattoo Interpretation’, ‘Destiny Clarification’, ‘Mother and Father Blessings’ and more. People encountered Jesus and were healed of physical aliments, a massive amount of heart healing, prophetic words and people being set free.
We had lines of people waiting for up to an hour because they were searching for a supernatural spiritual encounter and that is exactly what they got with the God of the impossible! Little did they know they were encountering Jesus! See, in Salem if we come in and preach the gospel we would turn off so many people that have been hurt from the church or Christians, so, we go in and speak language that the people relate to and understand. We are intentional about meeting the people where they are and loving them. Then, once they feel love or have an encounter or a healing they naturally ask, “How did you know that?” or “How did you do that?” and at that time we are able to share with them about Jesus and His love for them.
Through meeting people as they are no matter what lifestyle they are living we saw miracles and salvation. It was so good. It was such an honor to be able to walk into one of the darkest places in the country and release truth, release freedom, and to ultimately release love. The people of Salem, Massachusetts had a major encounter with love, the love of Jesus, and we believe that they will be forever touched through the “Yes” of 21 people from age 18-60’s who sacrificed work, time with their families, and their own agenda.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” -Ephesians 6:12
