On June 20, 2025, we sent an email to all of our partners communicating that we would be winding down much of the Global Associate program as of September 1, 2025, and that several of our then-associates would be launching their own ministries. Among those were Brian and Camden Starley, whom we endorsed for ministry and encouraged our partners to prayerfully consider supporting financially.
Following that communication, but prior to the launch of their independent ministry, we became aware that Brian had been struggling with alcohol for a period of time, amid an intensive season of physical illness that led to significant emotional and mental fatigue, which contributed to that struggle. It also became evident that, at times, this struggle had been concealed. Upon learning this, we intervened immediately. All ministry was stopped and we focused on providing counseling and ministry during that season, while continuing financial support in order to create space for rest, care, and healing.
Over the course of that season, it became clear to Brian and Camden that they would be best served by continuing their healing journey under the care and oversight of another minister, Phill Urena with Kingdom Convergence. In October 2025, they relocated to New York to be connected with his community. They have since that time been working with him and remain under his leadership and pastoral care. While we continue to believe in them and their calling, at this time we believe it is in their best interest to not be in ministry and to focus on their own spiritual and emotional wholeness. As such, Global is no longer endorsing them for ministry. Because we value them personally more than their ministry gifts, both the Global Leadership and the leadership of Kingdom Convergence believe it is best for them to lay ministry aside for a season. To their credit, Brian and Camden fully agree.
Our intent in this statement is not to revisit details unnecessarily but to communicate with honesty and integrity and to steward well the trust of the Body of Christ. In doing so, we must also acknowledge the ways in which we, as a ministry, failed to disciple, care for, and spiritually parent our associates as we should have. In our desire to see those who were clearly gifted and anointed activated in their calling, we became hasty. At times, we offered platforms too quickly rather than investing deeply in formation, character, and long-term health. We repent for this. We are deeply sorry for the ways this has caused harm within the Body of Christ, including to some who were very close to us. While every individual is responsible for their own choices, we also recognize that the failures of our spiritual children reflect, in part, our failures as spiritual fathers and mothers.
We remain steadfast in our belief in God’s redemptive work in the lives of His people and will continue to prioritize health and wholeness over platform or performance. As Kingdom Convergence has been overseeing their process of healing and personal discipleship for the last eight months, you can feel free to connect with them. We are very hopeful this season will position them to live the full life God has for them in their marriage, family life, community and service to Christ. Join us in prayer for them, they are worth it.
