The Global Awakening team at Iris Ministries in Pemba Mozambique went out to the “bush bush” on a three day outreach mission to the village of Namanhumbir. On the second day in the village, we went door to door in the afternoon, offering to pray for the sick. Villagers led us to the home of a woman, about 60 years of age, who was in great pain. She had debilitating pain and could not even stand. She had extremely thin legs and had pain in her stomach. The team prayed for her and shared encouraging words from God for her.
During our team’s free time, a handful of team members ate a meal at a nearby restaurant. Upon sitting down, Timothy received a word of knowledge with nerve pain in his neck, going into the left shoulder. Timothy asked his table and no one said it was for them. Then we asked the waiter, his English was not good. He said no and the waiter left, 30 seconds later, he returned to the table and said, “I now understand, yes, I have pain in my shoulder and it goes down my back.” We prayed. Pain went completely away, he had a huge smile and said, “thank you thank you.”
In the morning while our team was on outreach in the bush, I was sitting in front of the house reading my Bible when I saw a woman complain about her shoulder being in pain. I asked if she wanted prayer, and then a friend and I prayed for her shoulder. After asking her to test it out, she told me it felt completely better. Another woman was watching us and also asked for prayer for malaria. She said she felt better after we prayed (my translator and I). Then another woman asked for prayer because she had pain in her chest. We prayed a couple times because the first time we prayed, the pain left her chest and went into her back. We commanded the demons to leave and she felt better. Then, because I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me, I asked her if she wanted to accept Jesus as her savior.
In Namanhumbir, after joyful dancing with passion in the evening, my wife and I went to the side to rest. A man came up to me and he pointed to his left knee and hip. I understand he wants prayer. We ask a team member next to us to translate. We ask for details. The man told us he had pain in the left side. I prayed for healing, we commanded the pain to leave, I prayed for strengthening the muscles, for the right standing of the hip, for the same length of the feet, and for full freedom of movement.
In the village of Namanhumbir, the Global Awakening mission team went door to door praying for the sick and sharing Christ. At one home we met a woman about 55 years old who had suffered severe debilitating pain for four years ever since she had been pushed at a party while dancing. Because of the accident, on shaky legs, she was able to stand for short periods of time to sweep her porch, but she was no longer able to venture out to the market or to work. She did not smile or make eye contact with the team members, but she gave a small nod “yes” to accept being prayed for. The team began to pray. A member of the Iris staff checked the length of the left leg and identified that because of the accident, her left leg was shorter. After about two minutes of prayer, asking God to strengthen the leg, the leg appeared to have grown, and we asked her to try to stand. She reluctantly tried and found she could stand.
