Freedom from Pain: Ana’s Journey of Healing and Deliverance

The evening of June 29, 2026, I was on a Global Awakening ministry trip to Brazil. That evening we were at CIA church in a city called Maringá. Randy had just preached, and we had a powerful time of impartation before we were released to pray for the sick. A young mother named Ana came up for prayer, saying that she had been experiencing constant 6/10 back pain and shoulder pain for the last five years. She shared that she thought the pain was due to her shoulders being uneven. She could feel a lump in her left shoulder that made that shoulder seem higher up than her right shoulder (possibly due to the muscles being extremely tense).

I asked whether any major events had happened 5 years ago around the time the pain started. Our conversation revealed that she had gone through some rough experiences at that time, and that there were a few things that she needed to forgive herself for. She blamed herself for something that happened back then, and had taken in emotions of fear and shame. I had Ana ask God for forgiveness for the mistake she felt she had made, and I had her forgive herself as well. I sensed the Holy Spirit confirming to me that there were spirits of fear and shame that were troubling her and that would need to be cast out.

The way the conversation went was that we then decided to pray just a regular prayer without addressing any potential spiritual causes yet. Ana’s pain went down from a 6 to a 4 after this first prayer. During this prayer, she felt a pressure constricting her chest especially under her arms. My sense was that this pressure was not from God. We then prayed twice more, and her pain went from a 4 to a 2, and then from a 2 to 0. Praise God!

After that, the Holy Spirit directed me to ask if I could pray one more prayer and break off any spirits of fear or shame that might have latched on to her. She agreed. After I finished this prayer, she shared that my prayer reminded her that she saw a demon by her bedside every evening. And she feels this spirit had been feeding her mind with lies, and constantly reminding her of her past mistakes.

After she told me this, I felt the Holy Spirit lead me to do two more prayers. I had Ana renounce all spirits of fear and shame. Then, using Jesus’ authority through Christ in me, I prayed again for the spirits to be cast out. During this prayer, Ana’s stomach started reacting, convulsing in and out. I commanded the spirits to come out of her in a breath. After a minute or two, I sensed the Holy Spirit say that she was free. I told her that if the spirits come back, she may need more deliverance prayer. She was not from Maringá, but she said people at her hometown church also do deliverance, so they may be able to help her if that is needed. I am hoping that by addressing the spiritual side of things, the root cause of Ana’s chronic pain will have been dealt with, as this may help ensure the pain never returns. In addition to all the pain being gone, Ana shared that she felt a lot lighter! Jesus is amazing! All glory and honor to His name!
