Miracle of Sight: Woman Sees Color for First Time

A woman responded to a word of knowledge for her eye and was standing in line for prayer from the person who gave the word. Since I wasn’t praying for anyone at the moment, I offered to pray for her. She agreed and explained she needed prayer for her left eye. She explained that she had had problems with it since birth, and couldn’t focus with it. With permission, I placed my hand over her eye and prayed, asking the Holy Spirit to come. When I took my hand away, she looked at my translator a few feet away and they discussed the coiled ear cuff the interpreter was wearing. The translator explained the woman could see the ear cuff, but it just looked like a black spot to her. It was also blurry.

We prayed again in the same manner and this time the woman was able to see that the earring cuff was gold. I didn’t understand at first but then the interpreter explained that the woman had never been able to see color out of that eye before! We prayed once or twice more, but the blurriness continued and she could not see the details of the black coiling within the gold cuff. I thought for a moment of something else we could test with and asked her to look at the clock with the large digital numbers in the back of the room. She was able to see there was a clock, but she was unable to see the individual numbers (she was trying with both eyes together). We prayed again and she exclaimed it was getting better and she was beginning to make out the numbers, though it wasn’t clear yet. We prayed again and she kept blinking and testing and said she could read the numbers!

She quickly spun around to try something else and looked at a person on the stage, probably about 10-15 feet away. She stated with delight that she could see that it was a woman standing there and she could see the details of her clothing. She told us that before she could have told us there was a person there, but she wouldn’t have been able to make out any details about them. She still had slight blurriness in her eye, so we prayed again. It didn’t seem to be changing anymore but we knew God was working. The woman joyfully hugged us and went her way.
