The Holy Spirit gave me the word of knowledge “water” which I felt didn’t fit in with our instruction to give words that would lead to physical or emotional healing. I said publicly, “Some injury or infection that happened in water and or a fear of water.” No one responded by standing.
Towards the end of the meeting a tall man came to me asking if I had given the word of knowledge about water. He wanted to know what exactly the Lord had said to me, so I replied, “Water.” He began to tell me that he had irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). He had an episode where he had become so dehydrated he had to be hospitalized and nearly died. After this, he suddenly needed to drink water every 15 minutes day or night which was ruining his life. The specialists thought (but weren’t sure) the severe dehydration had damaged some kind of thirst sensors in his kidney or brain. They didn’t know how to treat it. I prayed for him based on the word of knowledge which had really encouraged him. He couldn’t tell immediately if he was healed. I had to leave to board the bus because of the late hour, but we believed together that he was totally healed.
