Born a third generation missionary, Rolland Baker was greatly influenced by his grandfather, H.A. Baker. He began Iris Ministries in 1980 with his wife Heidi, after they had already been on the mission field for thirty years. Their travels took them to the slums of Indonesia and among the homeless of London. The intimacy of these powerful encounters with the desperately poor left them longing for more. In 1995, the couple felt led to Mozambique, one of the poorest nations in the world. Since then, Iris Ministries has begun a network of churches and orphanages across all ten provinces in Mozambique, feeding and caring for over 12,000 orphans daily. Filled with stories of miracles and faith, Rolland's message is one of love and childlike faith.
