On our outreach to the bush, my team of six went evangelizing with Pastor Sergio and his assistant. Two older teens came with us as we walked from house to house. As we traveled down the sandy road, the boy played his guitar, and he and the girl worshiped. One of the houses that we stopped at, a fourteen-year-old girl, Isabelle, came out to meet us. After talking with her for a while, I asked if she had Jesus in her heart. She said no. I asked if she would like to ask Jesus to be her Lord and Savior. She said yes. Then teammate Michelle told her more about Jesus and what He’s done for us. After I prayed with her to receive Him, Courtney gave her a healing hug. The girl clung to her with tears running down her cheeks. Courtney felt God was healing the past hurts and trauma in her life. This hug lasted ten to fifteen minutes. As we left, Pastor Sergio said he’d come back another time to check on her. It was a beautiful team effort. That day Isabelle received both her salvation and inner healing.
