Program Objectives
Graduates will demonstrate the acquisition of knowledge that results in a mastery of skills that are dependent upon faith-based in this new knowledge of the ways of God and the gracelets of God. Each degree involves a mentoring relationship with one supervisor guiding the student through course work, the mastery checklist, and thesis or dissertation writing.

- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in biblical, theological, historical, and practical studies from the third-wave renewal perspective.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply biblical, historical, and theological research in specific spiritual and cultural contexts reflecting renewal from third-wave theology and practices.

- Defend and articulate the Continuationist position in the fields of biblical, systematic, historical, and practical theology.
- Demonstrate the ability to engage in the academic conversation of research and writing and contribute to the advancement of Renewal studies and supernatural ministry for either the academy or the Church.
- Exhibit the ability to cast vision, strategize, and utilize advanced ministerial skills for spiritual renewal, transformation, and leadership within churches, movements, and denominations to impact culture.

Doctor of Theology (ThD) Program at a Glance
This doctoral degree provides scholars an opportunity to explore theological truth, identity, and practice from the perspective of continuationist renewal studies. Scholars in the program will apply applied research or academic research that makes an original contribution to the Renewal Theology movement.

Intensive Seminars
The Doctoral program follows a traditional sixteen week semester beginning at the end of August and running until mid December for the fall semester with the spring semester beginning in January and running until mid May.
Each semester kicks off with an orientation call held over zoom. Midway through the semester the Doctoral program requires attendance for in person class sessions. The class sessions are held for five full days and include review of work studied leading up to the “Intensive” from the start of class and introduces students to methods and resources for their Doctoral Program along with instruction for subsequent steps of the Doctoral Program. The Intensive weeks include the following:

Admissions Process and Requirements
Step 1 - Submit Electronic Application, Transcripts, and Personal Essay
- Electronic application.
- A resume.
- Academic and personal references.
- Official transcripts of all baccalaureate and graduate-level work.
- A personal essay detailing the understanding of their calling.
- International students for whom English is not their first language must submit a TOEFL iBT score of at least 80 (lower scores will require an interview).
Step 2 - Confirm Completion of Academic Prerequisites
The ThD Program Applicant must have completed an accredited Master’s degree in Theology, Bible, or Religion, or a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) with a GPA of at least 3.50 (or as low as 3.25 with probationary acceptance). OR a student with accredited Masters in a secular field could complete the following pre-doctoral program courses:

Step 3 - Demonstrate Involvement in Renewal Practical Theology
Applicants should demonstrate their level of involvement and/or experience in the practice of Renewal Theology. There are many ways this can be demonstrated. One could submit a resume reflecting several years of ministry practice which includes physical healing, emotional/inner healing, and deliverance. A resume may also include participation in training schools, ministry trips or other opportunities that contributed to one’s ministry model. Transcripts could include coursework from Global Awakening Theological Seminary graduate programs or Global Awakening College of Ministry (formerly CHCP), including:
- Levels 1 and 2 of Physical Healing,
- Levels 1 and 2 of Inner Healing, and
- Levels 1 and 2 of Deliverance.

Step 4 - Complete and Submit Doctoral Application Field Essay

The paper should show a clear thesis, persuasive argumentation, proper use of grammar, research and citation skills that demonstrate your abilities in these areas.
